Following a painful breakup, artist and government hydrologist Sarah Smith (Lily Rabe, American Horror Story) sets out on a stream survey for the Forest Service in southwestern Oregon – a journey down a scenic river that leads her to remote wilderness surrounded by scorched landscapes. Sarah also suspects she is being followed by an unseen presence, and visits from this “Big Man” (Isaac C. Singleton, Jr.) continue at the remote cabin where she writes up her fieldwork.
As a mutual curiosity develops between them, her budding romance with a wilderness advocate leads to surprising revelations about the government, and Sasquatch. Directed by renowned independent filmmaker Christopher Munch (The Hours and the Times) and featuring gorgeous cinematography showcasing the natural beauty of the Oregon wilderness, LETTERS FROM THE BIG MAN has been noted as the first realistic filmic depiction of Sasquatch.
