Cornwall Live Reported this week that a witness seems to have captured a strange figure on video.  ‘Alien’ or ‘demon’ caught on camera by Cornwall ghost hunter at Kennall Vale wood.  The witness stated  ‘I just think it’s evil. It’s not from this world, it was definitely there and it was a solid form’

A ghost hunter from Cornwall has spoken out about his encounter with a mysterious creature which he described as an ‘alien’ or a ‘demon’. Mark Davies, of Falmouth, investigates evidence of paranormal phenomena in different places in the county.  He and three friends visited eerie wood Kennall Vale, at Ponsanooth, at about 9.30pm on Saturday (January 5) when they made the incredible discovery.

A video which he shared on YouTube showed a very strange silhouette appearing across a small bridge which leads to one of the derelict mills which stand on the site. It then seemed to move and stand in different places.

Mark and his friends were trying to measure paranormal activity in the area and communicate with supernatural beings. They brought several instruments with them including a ghost box, which is claimed to be used by spirits to communicate through electronic voice.  In the video, Mark says: “I always knew they existed, I have felt them, smelt them, heard them and now I have seen them.  “Some call them aliens, some call them demons, the Watchers and many other names. This is my best evidence visual up to date of a non-human being caught on my video camera. “Some might think this is a hoax, that I manipulated the photo evidence provided. Well, the smoking gun is the end clip. “You decide and thanks for the support. I am only interested in bringing real evidence to the paranormal table like other genuine people.”

Mark can be heard saying: “Spirits, can you touch those pods on the bridge, please? Make the lights to off like you did last time for us. Show us that you’re here. Show us that you live on, please. We’re here to communicate with you.” A few seconds later, Mark’s friend Wendy started choking as the creature appeared across the bridge. “Can all the spirits in these woods stand in front of this bridge, please,” he continued, asking Wendy if she was okay. “Is it safe to go beyond this bridge? If it’s dangerous, can you show yourself, please, on this camera?”

He said that a change of frequency affected the group. The frequency’s changing,” he said. “It’s getting really cold here right now. “There’s something around us. Can you stand in front of us please, and not affect us?” However, Mark started to be physically affected by the presence. The video shows that he had to walk away from the bridge for a bit. He said: “My back is killing me.”

Mark later explained to Cornwall Live that, although the group could feel a presence, the creature could not be seen in person. He said: “I haven’t actually seen it on camera, but spotted it when I watched the video back.” When asked what kind of being it was, Mark said: “I haven’t got any idea. “The face is not right, it’s not human. But it’s definitely there, it was a solid form, with the light you can see the shadow behind it.”

The 47-year-old said that he did some research online and that he found reports of “a strange creature in bushes and trees” between Swanpool and Maenporth. The Paranormal Database website describes the phenomenon as cryptozoology and describes the creature as “slightly larger than a dog, with cat’s face, walking on its hind legs”. Mark said that the description seemed to match, and that the presence did not seem harmless. “I don’t want to go there again,” he said, laughing. “It gave me a feeling that scared the hell out of me. “I just think it’s evil. It’s not from this world, it was definitely there and it was a solid form. “I felt a presence, the coldness and the pain. I just asked it to show itself and it was there!”

Mark has been a ghost hunter for four years. He had been to Kennall Vale before, to investigate, and saw orb lights and strange phenomena. He said he and the group came back to study the energies there. The wood used to be the site of a gunpowder factory which blew up in the 18th century, killing one person. Several buildings in ruins are still there and Mark believes that there was also an Iron Age settlement there thousands years ago. Mark has a Youtube channel and a Facebook group, both called Cornwall Ghost Hunting, where he shares his paranormal experiences.
