In March of 2013 a 17 year old student by the name of Terri Leigh Cox noticed a creature bounding around the playing fields just outside her house in Dorchester, Dorset. Miss Cox’s description of the sighting in her own words was; “it was such a shock. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at first. It looked about the size of a small gorilla. It was walking like one as well, using its arms and feet. It was definitely a monkey because you could tell by its hunched back and the way it scampered across a field and up a tree. It wasn’t a black
Miss Cox managed to quickly take a photo of the Ape-like creature with her mobile phone. She tried to get a better picture but the creature was no longer visible. Her boyfriend went to investigate the park moments later but the creature had gone.
The location of this sighting is very significant because Dorchester is only a few miles from Yellowham woods and Puddletown woods which have a rich and centuries long history of Woodwose reports. After studying the photo at length and drawing my interpretation of the creature, I noticed that there is an orb in the lower left hand side of the picture.
A friend and child witness to the British Wildman
pointed out to me that there is also 2 or 3 blurry ghost-like or blob-like elements to the photo. What caused these or whether they are something paranormal is unclear. As for the creature itself, I seriously believe that my illustration is accurate and combined with miss Cox’s description, I am inclined to say the photo shows a genuine juvenile Woodwose.
