Witness Account 7/12/2015 : I have been hiking since 2004 mostly alone and all over Ireland. In December 2015 I was in a very remote and isolated area of the Sperrin’s. I had walked to three hill tops surrounded by dense forest and was heading back up a hill towards a tree line to my car when I seen something very tall and large moving faster behind me one km away. It was walking heading down the hill towards me on a route I had just taken. I am not easily spooked but I did not hang about as I am of the opinion if it wanted to, it could have caught up with me easy. I have pondered this for a while now but I have not a clue what it was to this day, as I see people on the hills and mountains at various distances. But this was taller than a 6ft person at the distance I seen it. Eight feet plus is my guess. As I didn’t have a gun only hiking poles I was not about to wait and find out. My hiking bag now has binoculars added.
Way up on Holcombe Moor is an Army Training centre and lots of land owned by the M.O.D Posted with danger signs it is not accessible to your average human. But as this area is very close to the source of the River Irwell along which many British Wildman sightings lie. I recently got back in touch with the witness to see if they would appear in the new documentary Elusive, but sadly ill health and fear of being identified prevented him from appearing, but he did manage to fill me in a little on some of the details.
This is the original Account, which was taken by A. Bird in 2013.
D. B witness statement: I am an ex service personnel who wished to tell you about two separate sightings of what I believes is the same creature, over an eight week period in the 1980’s, both happened to me whilst training, up in the hills close to Holcombe, This is only a short hop from the Forest of Bowland and has many different habitats, with high wind swept hills and low valleys where its wooded and damp. It rains all the time. And is an ideal area for the M.O.D and the land is posted for mines and artillery.
New in today by the wonderful blog Beasts of Britain, Andy is one of the leading pioneer’s in the subject of the British Bigfoot, and has himself done many hours of outdoor research and is influential in bringing this subject to the fore of the UK’s Fortean thinking, I would like to thank Andy for his time and effort, late nights and wet days, trudging muddy fields and marshy ground, in the pursuit of evidence. And his unbending three thinking attitude, like the explorers of old.
Weather- 4.5c to 6c, clear and sunny but later on some cloud cover, visibility very good
Well today was a quick search of Nuney Green, zone 1, my favourite area or old stomping ground. It’s New Year and I thought a quick visit was in order just to show my furry friends last year was not a one off but part of an ongoing process; my ultimate goal is to finally somehow get a Werewolf close enough and take some photos which I hope will show irrefutable proof of these guys. How I do this or how I get them to come to me in a friendly fashion is still a work in progress.
He described the “thing” as wolf like, it was dark, hairy and crouched over, as the witness backed off the almost doglike thing growled at him, This account is one of the many “wolf like” creature reports in the UK.
Hi Deborah, I have followed your page and youtube channel etc for a while now. And to be honest I always found Bigfoot in the UK a bit of a push to believe, but I am very open minded and am quite well known in Big Cat Research in the Southeast. So I am used to being out in the wilds. I have camped out in many places overnight and spent days out in the woods in the search of Britain’s Large Cats. I know the diverse habitats in the UK and i understand how large intelligent animals can stay hidden from people and thrive quite easily. I’m used to Bush crafting and nature’s structures and even I am finding things I can’t explain, Like the night in question, i’m not claiming it was a wild man or a cat, i’m simply stating some very strange things happened that night, that I can not explain them.
Exeter, Devon EX6, UK. I thought of an incident that occurred several years ago on the edge of Dartmoor and I think it may be of some interest to you. I have never really been able to make much sense of it but thought you may be interested. I’m writing this account around 12 years after it occurred, however I can remember it quite clearly, I think it was around 1998 – 1999, I was staying at the Haldon Lodge caravan site near Kenford in Devon
It was a bright Friday morning in November, I was catching a train from Exeter to Bristol at approximately 11:30 AM. The rush hour had gone at this point and there was probably only 30 to 40 people on the platform when the train rolled in.
The train journey was smooth the sky was bright & sun was shining down, soon we had branched away from the motorway and were between the hills and fields and the forest line.
In my carriage way probably 10 to 12 people most of them with their head in either mobile phones or morning newspapers. I haven’t been on a train for years so I was keen to take in the scenery. About 10 miles from Bristol we were travelling through an area and in the fields to my right I saw something large in the middle of the field walking, it was walking kind of hunched over, and all I could tell you was it was a black figure.
Witness Account C Driver: There had been lots of talk about a creature roaming around the mountains close to my home for a few months now. People were talking about it and asking each other, and wondering what it was? At that point it was just local gossip and I hadn’t seen it myself, but that would change only I did not know this at the time.
This is an account that came in through the Report a Bigfoot Sighting in the UK, my UK Facebook Page, The witness Mr. RJC shared this in a message with me: Hi I was recently down at Holme Fen which is an area of Special Scientific Interest, and an area which I have visited hundreds of times … The woods here are diverse and full of Silver Birch, Beach and Oak trees. Wild life abounds with many species of native and visiting bird life. The area has fisheries and The Great Fen is a 50-year project to create a huge wetland area. One of the largest restoration projects of its type in Europe, the landscape of the Fens between Peterborough and Huntingdon is being transformed for the benefit both of wildlife and of people.
