Early in the winter of 2003 I had recently passed my driving test and was going for a run in my car with my friend ? and his girlfriend. I am from the Falkirk area so we came up through Torphichen and were not really heading in any particular direction. I was just happy to be driving and the view from the car was perfect. I saw a sign for Cairnpapple and recognised it so i started heading up that way and I passed the lay by at Cairnpapple.
(read parts 1-3 in earlier article) All the while Patch is cowering in the back, not making any noise but shaking in fear, we were all spooked but i had to find out what was going on, we had been trying work all this out for months now, the figure in the road, the invisible running footsteps, weird human shaped dark figures, and the dog’s continuous fear. I was determined to go back and look. I turned around once more and parked at the beginning of the prints. Everyone got out with me. Jon was looking at the prints and Rob was keeping watch, scanning everywhere just in case this “creature” came back. I’m reluctant to give a description on the shape and size of print as its been a long time and i cannot remember with full detail. Mobile phones with cameras were available at this time but i didn’t have one neither did Jon or Rob.
(see earlier post for parts 1 and 2) The encounters at Paull seemed to be intensifying as if this thing was ‘testing’ us. Seeing how far it could go. This particular night we had lots of snow in Hull and the Paull area. By the time we got to our spot down Newlands lane the snow was a couple inches deep at least but it had stopped. My memory is hazy but i believe it was either late 02 or very early 03. Our routine and sightings of ‘it’ had taken over the pool games. Now we didn’t go out for pool as such but more to experience this…whatever it was. Driving down the lane turning round and then pulling over in the passing place on the left had become routine although the snow bound road and countryside gave a different dimension to things. The most obvious being everything was much ‘brighter’ It was cold and very quiet as I let Patch back in the boot. We sat in the car, windows half down having our smokes talking in low voices. Watching the bend in the road ahead carefully, ears pricked for any noise..nothing?? There was no unusual activity.
There is an Account on the British Bigfoot Map https://drive.google.com/open?id=1s1zOmmdM216PMftPUM9K1qqGrFg&usp=sharing that happened to one of the British Bigfoot Group members and fellow Researcher Shaine Winfrow when he had a very scary experience he still carries with him today:
“When I was 14 years old, I was out in the woods close to home a place we went to all the time, doing the usual boy’s games, and on that day I had gone with my brother and a friend and we were messing about as usual for a while and then we decided we would make a rope swing.
According to an article in the Daily Star Newspaper
Chilling accounts of the UK’s own Bigfoot are fairly common, and many claim to have spotted a glimpse of an ape-like creature roaming the countryside. It comes just months after a photographer told Daily Star Online that he may have captured the first ever footage of a Bigfoot roaming the British countryside.
One such bizarre sighting has been reported by monster hunter Jonathan Downes, who says he had a very “peculiar” encounter which he “still can’t explain” today. While investigating a string of sightings at Bolam lake near Newcastle in Northumberland he claims to have seen an man-like person leaping through a bog.
I grew up in the countryside near Essex, UK. Back then we lived in a very rural area surrounded by thick woods and fields. There were rivers and streams and fields. There was a small farm down a single track road. My first encounter of this thing that I can only describe as a beast was in our garden at about 11.30pm when I was about 13/14.
A couple of interesting reports from the Cleadon Area in the North East. Situated between countryside and shore, with an abundance of resources and cover, Cleadon would seem an ideal place for an encounter – but to have two separate witnesses report similar accounts at the same time to separate sources, speaks to the fact that something 7ft tall and hairy, that looks like a man, is walking the country roads of Cleadon. Locally it is known as the “Geet”, which is another of the names used to describe upright, hairy bi-pedal figures. The Cleadon Geet 2002/3
What happened took place when I was aged 16. I’m from Whitburn and had been to see my girlfriend who lived in East Boldon. It’s a bit of a walk so I used to catch the last bus which was at around 11pm, and I often used to miss it, meaning I’d have to walk home, which took around an hour. My well used and normal route was to walk along Cleadon Lane, a dark country road heading into Whitburn. It was a bit over grown with no lighting so you couldn’t see clearly – it was an eerie place to walk.
