Inside The Unsolved Disappearances Of The Bennington Triangle

Why is the area of the Bennington Triangle considered cursed? Why do people not want to live there? It seems the mountainous terrain of Glastenbury, Vermont had a bad luck curse from the beginning.  What happened to the people who mysteriously disappeared from Glastenbury Mountain, Vermont?” In most Bennington Triangle cases the victims or their bodies were never found. They vanished into thin air from their bedrooms, gardens, and petrol stations and other places within the area of Bennington Triangle. Except for people disappearances, there were also numerous reports of strange sounds, people who have gone insane, peculiar smells, UFO activity, strange lights, and mysterious creatures spotted in woods. Although these happenings have long puzzled people living in the vicinity of Bennington, Vt. they have never been explained.

Officially 241 persons lived in the region in 1880. Then the “town’s” population decreased to 17 in 1920 and down to only 3 permanent residents in 1930. In 1950 there was only the one remaining resident but also on its way to move…

A number of local legends are associated with a densely wooded area of the Bennington Triangle and Glastenbury Mountain but the first white settlers did not take the legend seriously until their families and closest friends began to disappear without trace.

https://allthatsinteresting.com/bennington-triangle  Some suspect a serial killer while others point a finger at the paranormal, but nobody has been able to fully explain the mysterious disappearances from Vermont’s Bennington Triangle. Followers of folklore and aficionados of the paranormal are certainly familiar with the Bermuda Triangle and perhaps even southeastern Massachusetts’ Bridgewater Triangle. But one lesser-known cousin of these areas infamous for their strange disappearances holds more than its fair share of tantalizing mysteries: the Bennington Triangle of Vermont.

Dubbed as such by Vermont author Joseph A. Citro, the Bennington Triangle is a loosely-defined area that encompasses the ghost town of Glastenbury, once a small logging community centered on the eponymous mountain in southwestern Vermont. Abandoned at the end of the 19th century after the logging boom died down, the greater Glastenbury area is now mostly untouched, pristine wilderness and is considered remote even by Vermont standards.  Starting with a string of missing persons some 70 years ago, the now-abandoned town has long been the eerie setting of numerous unexplained disappearances, unsolved murders, and bizarre sightings that continue to this day.  Glastenbury and its neighboring township Somerset were both once moderately thriving logging and industrial towns, but began declining toward the late 19th century and are now essentially ghost towns, unincorporated by an act of the state legislature in 1937.

The Bennington Triangle also has been a hotspot for UFO activity, Big Foot sightings, and strange lights and sounds. Other sources do seem to support that such folklore does appear to date back as far as the late 19th century. This includes the local folk belief that Native Americans regarded the Glastenbury area as “cursed” and avoided it, as well as tales of hairy “wild men” and other strange beasts in the woods.

Bigfoot Sighting in Kentucky!

The Crypto Crew reports

Recently, I was contacted by a friend, who just discovered that I conduct Bigfoot research and log sightings. We haven’t been in contact with each other for a few years, but that changed thanks to social media. It was good to message back and forth with an old friend.

After we talked a little, he told me about his Bigfoot sighting here in my home county of Bell. I instructed him to submit an official report with us. His sighting has, to my knowledge, never been officially reported until now.

Here is his sighting:

– Start Report –

Name: Jamie

Email Address: On File

State: Kentucky

County: Bell

Date of Sighting: 10/09/2015

Time of Day: 9:45pm

Nearest Town: Pineville

Length of Sighting: Approximately 1 minute

How many Witnesses: 1

Any Photos/Videos: No

Describe sighting in detail:

Driving home from my cousins on page cut off, as I was getting close to a small curve I saw what I thought was a big tree stump on the creek side of the road.

As I got closer it took like 3 to 4 steps and was across the road. All I could tell was it looked to be 7 foot tall and brown or black it was dark.

I saw it plain with my head lights, walk with arms to its side and went up a very steep embankment. I stopped but couldn’t see it. I turned around went back and called my friend.
Freaked me out.

I went back the next day to that spot and tried to cross the road, no possible way a human could even get across the road in even 5 steps.

Follow up question

TM: Did you see it’s face at all?

J: No, It shocked me and all I remember seeing was it’s whole body. It was dark so my headlights were on it but it was definitely something big and bipedal. I remember the long looking arms kinda swinging.

– End Report –

Of course, we thank Jamie for his sighting report. Jamie is a very creditable witness and has nothing to gain from his sighting. We hope to document the area in the near future.

In this particular area there are few houses and a lot of forest land. This area also has several streams and ponds on it. I have also taken other Bigfoot sighting reports from this general area.

Thanks
~Tom~

Some say it resembles a prowling hyena, others a ferocious wolf.

While there are those who have seen the mysterious creature menacing Buckshaw Village and describe it as a terrifying cross between a wild boar and some kind of big cat.

Whatever it is, it has been blamed for mauling several deer to death, and one resident’s Alsatian dogs were left quivering with fear after a particularly close encounter.

Now one intrepid villager has taken a photograph of what locals have dubbed the Buckshaw Beast, sparking a feverish online debate about what exactly it might be.

Isabella’s Journal Part 3 & Part 4 Schiehallion Faerie Mountain and the missing children legend

Hello Deb,

Isabella here from the high hills of Scotland.  I thought I’d try to provide another update as winter closes in.

The local shoot has been in the fields every day since last week – except in the pouring rain when they had to stay by the fire.  So it’s not a time for Bigfoot – or me for that matter – to be out and about.  The biggest news from this site is that the landowner in our area, [who had his fences torn down if you recall], has apparently decided it was a fluke or random vandalism and is replacing them all. I can only predict that next March they’ll be gone again when the clan demand their territory and the right to roam once more.  I suppose we’ll see who wins out.  But I know who I’m betting on anyway.

Meanwhile, I thought I’d report on an encounter with a fleeing herd of red deer that happened last spring and might interest your listeners.  First, it’s important to say that in this area, we seldom come across the stags.  They seem to inhabit the loftiest areas.  The hinds are regular visitors in the lower hills though.  We see them and their young all the time, a few here and there and mostly at night.
