I know you guys are used to me bringing you stories and experiences that some would say are completely bonkers but for me can become a little run of the mill so to speak and these days im seldom shocked by the stories and experiences that ordinary people like you or I have experienced, but even I was surprised to come across a very strange tale while looking to see what else is happening in the areas that I receive reports of British Bigfoots and Canine type creatures. Believe me or not, but our central and beautiful land-locked and windswept Peak District is said to be home to not one, but two mermaids!
The first water nymph is rumoured to live in the appropriately named Mermaid’s Pool, situated just below Kinder Scout in the High Peaks. This site was thought to be popular for ancient water rituals for two reasons; firstly, the water is salty, which is very strange for an inland lake with no access to coast or tide. Secondly the nearby waterfall of Kinder Downfall often appears to have the mythical quality of water flowing upwards on a blustery day. Many a hiker have been taken aback to see what appears to be a waterfall flowing backwards and defying gravity.
The waters of the Mermaid’s Pool are believed to offer healing qualities to those brave enough to bathe within them. For those looking for eternal life, the best time to visit is at midnight at Easter, which is the only time of the year when the Mermaid is said to appear. If she looks upon you fondly then she will grant you the gift of immortality. Make sure you catch her on a good day though, otherwise you can expect to be pulled into the pool to your death!
This account came in to me by email, The witness kindly allowed me to share it here with you all. As regular visitors here will no doubt already know there are a number of strange accounts up at Carmyllie in Angus on the North West Coast of Scotland. The lady who had these encounters is a well known Scottish Female researcher by the name of Charmaine Fraser, Charmaine was one of the first people I was able to talk to who had an experience with these beings as a child. It was very validating for me, as we matched each other word for word and sentence for sentence as we chatted, we also had all of the same questions. So you can imagine my delight when early this year another witness came forward from the very same area. I passed on the details to Charmaine and she too was delighted to finally have some validation. This account I feel is very important in not only validating Charmaine’s earlier accounts, it is also rare for a creature to be seen in the vicinity of a footprint or a succession of footprints. And even rarer still is a winter account. As we turn to the cold season the sightings seem to die off, now im unsure if thats because we are out less, or that “they” go somewhere else entirely in the winter months. Very early this year Steve Hevican had some very good results at Cannock Chase in the snow, but sadly no creature was sighted, so I thought as its that season again, I bring you some of the very rare Winter sighting accounts.
Did a crowd of weed smoking teenagers see a Horned Werewolf in a Glouchester Deer Park?? A report from Phantoms and Monsters was today released. The following is a new account I recently found states Lon Strickler:
I don’t even know how to explain this but I’m not the sort to believe in ghosts, devils, demons and cryptids…but this has changed my mind drastically.
I live in the United Kingdom and live in the countryside. I live on a moderately busy lane and have loads of fields behind my house. 5 minutes up the road there’s a hill, it’s called Cole Peak (changed for privacy) in Gloucestershire. It’s about 6 fields away from my house and 5 minute walk from the road.
“I saw a weird Mutant Creature as a child” says a resident of Missouri, USA, who wished to remain anonymous. In a statement released today.
“I recently went to a reunion of our high school and met her friend ash, which at school we were bosom friends.
We talked about different topics, and then she suddenly asked “do you remember the beast, with a snout like a pig we saw?” I looked at ash first with incomprehension, then shock.
As it turned out, I completely forgot about this event. I was so scared that my memory tried to completely erase that horrible memory from my mind and I remembered it only when ash asked him about.
Before my family and the ash family lived in the remote countryside, where there was only dirt roads. Passed near the national Park boundary, and the nearest town was 25 miles. It was 2003 and I was 13 years old.
The Barmanou, often called The Hindu Kush Bigfoot, caused one investigator to lose his life or so the story goes!
The Barmanou creature “smells like rotting garbage” according to locals, it makes inhuman, guttural sounds, and sometimes it wears skins. The people who have come across this strange humanoid hairy bipedal creature say this cryptid is an ape-man creature residing in the mountainous region between western Pakistan and Afghanistan. One man collected over 50 reports before he was sadly murdered along with a young boy employed to work for him. A Spanish zoologist named Jordi Magraner. Tragically, Magraner and the boy were murdered while searching for the creature in 2002.
This account came in to me through email and the gentleman kindly allowed me to share his images and account with you.
I read the recent account with interest I am starting to see that there have been other accounts from the forest of Dean, it helps to know im not alone in what I have seen and experienced down there, as we discussed earlier when I sent my account over to you in email the Dean is a very strange place. I know there have been other strange sightings on the Dean area. During my recent walks in the Forest I have noticed my dog acting strangely, there has been only occasional strange reactions from the dog and sometimes the dog acts strange in completely different areas, not always the same area spooks him but it is out of character enough for me to keep taking note of the dogs behaviour.
This is something that happened to me a couple of weeks ago – 20th of September 18. I regularly walk a Yorkshire Terrier out in the Forest, he is a rescue dog and doesn’t like other dogs so I walk him alone and off the normal dog walking paths. He tries to fight any dog that he meets so I have to keep him on the lead. He is totally fearless, it doesn’t matter to him if it’s a Rottweiler, Pit bull or German Shepherd, he will try and have a go despite his size. Owners of Yorkshire terriers would no doubt agree.
Anyway, I am very familiar with the large local wildlife, Fallow deer, Roe deer, Muntjac deer of course the hundreds of Wild Boar now living there which I see them regularly. (the wild boar population in the Forest of Dean is becoming a pandemic problem)
On this day I was walking down a forest track about 2 miles out of Cinderford when unusually, the dog started acting in a scared and nervous manner, he was cowering behind me which has never happened before. I couldn’t think of anything that would spook him this much so I managed to get him to continue down the path for a little way. Shortly after this as Im pulling the dog along Three Wild Boar crossed the path at speed about 30 feet in front of us but as usual the dog ignored them it was something else spooking him.
I calmed him down and we slowed pace and kept on with the walk, but several minutes later, the dog started to become agitated again, once again he refused to continue with the walk he was trying to go back the way we had come. I looked around to see what could be causing this reaction and I saw a face looking at me about 100 yards away in the woods, it was just looking at me and the dog, it didn’t move or do anything. So I pulled out my phone and took a picture on maximum zoom. The dog refused to carry on so I left with him not looking back as we went back the way we came.
I have been back down that path several times since the incident and on Three occasions the dog has showed signs of anxiety again but I saw nothing, no one watching from the trees that I could make out?. I did find some stick structures nearby, but think they were probably man made. Please look at the pictures and see what you think. When your looking at them keep in mind that the ferns that the creature is standing in are 4-5 feet tall. It looks like it is standing hunched over and I thought it was possibly canine.
I m one of those people that talks to animals – I say hello to deer, boar even squirrels when I see them as I walk along. When I first saw the face looking at me, I said aloud “I can see you” and I even waved at it thinking it must be a deer or a boar. It was after looking at the face for a while that I realised it was neither got my phone out.
I think it was watching or stalking the boar I had seen minutes before and the face when I saw it was down in the ferns. I think I might have blown it’s cover that’s why it raised itself out of the ferns. I have never felt threatened whilst walking that path, in fact it is a favourite of mine due to the wildlife I encounter – although lately the wildlife seems to have left the area. I do tend to talk aloud on that path (if there is no one around) saying “just passing through and I mean you no harm.” I have not changed my routine and I still walk the path both alone and with the dog but I do get the eerie feeling of being watched sometimes. The path is only about a quarter of a mile away from the popular Sculpture Trail which attracts thousands of visitors every year. If anything, I feel privileged to have seen it and I have never heard of any similar sightings that it could be ( the usual big cat sightings are reported and I have seen one myself, along with occasional sheep kills) but I couldn’t explain what kind of creature this was, other than to say it was hair covered and looked like a canine.
My mind goes back to a Sunday morning in October this year when I was just passing through the area of the encounter, I came across 3 or 4 men, each with several dogs and long lens cameras. They were criss crossing the area – not on the paths but in the wooded sections they seemed to be searching for something ?- maybe others have seen something? Since then, contractors for the Forestry Commission have been nearby, felling trees which would have scared off any wildlife. Please use any information I have given you as you see fit, including the photo’s and my experience. I will continue to monitor the area and I will let you know if I see anything else.
As mentioned there are other reports in the Forest of Dean and you can access them here on THE MAP
Wye Valley Weirdness
Back in 1994 I was at a long weekend church camp in a cabin up in the Wye Valley. At night my friend and I (we were 17 and 16) were taking a stroll and just joking around. We were walking along a path slightly above the stream. On the other side of us was a steep hill covered in trees and brambles. As we were walking we heard deep heavy footsteps tromping parallel with us but up on the hill. At first I just thought it was an echo of our own footsteps but then I realised we were both wearing trainers and walking on a smooth tarmac stretch of track. When we stopped,”it” stopped, and it wasn’t until it stepped on some rotten wood and made a huge cracking noise that we realised there was something very, very heavy up there. But the terrain was so steep and so matted with trees and bushes there was no way a man could walk so steadily paced across it. Then the hairs on my neck started standing on edge. It wasn’t a threatening feeling but we knew we were being watched. We about turned and pegged it. But the footsteps didn’t follow. My friend later suggested it may have been a deer but this thing was bipedal and those footsteps were HEAVY – despite it walking on soft forest debris.
The Dragging Footsteps at Mitchell Troy
A married couple out walking late at night heard footsteps dragging behind them that they could not explain. When they stopped, the footsteps stopped. When a car approached the area the sounds were coming from and illuminated the area, no other person could be seen walking.
River Severn is home to more than just one “creature”! Man sees strange creature running low to the ground.
My name is Simon Austin and I am from Coleford near Gloucester, I have lived here all my life . I never knew where to report my encounter until a friend of mine told me about Mark Farnell a friend of his, who follows sightings of unexplainable creatures like Bigfoot.
I work in Staunton, one morning I woke at 05.00am and got myself ready for work. As I was driving down scowles road heading for the A4136 highway, keeping in mind there was very little to no traffic I approached a left turn junction, near stowfield quarry at that point my car was hit by a small log or branch. In shock I looked to my right from where the sound emitted from and what I saw was frightening to say the least. I witnessed a creature sprinting towards me on all fours; at least that’s what I thought until it came closer. It was running on two legs but low to the floor. It resembled a dog but had a long snout but was much taller and was very thin. I accelerated off as fast as I could.
The creature was black in colour and had frosted eyes. I have never seen anything like this before and hope I don’t see it again.
I hope this helps in anyway.
Pop over to the map and take a look for yourself, if you follow the Estuary and River you will see a multitude of reports.
Over 25 new Global Bigfoot Reports have been added to the map. From Swedish Apemen, To Spanish Wildmen, there are far more European Accounts that even I realised. I have added the source to each account and added any images taken by the witnesses and links to evidence finds. New accounts added daily. From Sasquatches of North America to the Yowies from OZ. Find all your Bigfoot information on one handy map. If you would like to share your experience or sighting account here please message me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will be adding old and new reports and sightings from every country and continent. When I originally started this map back in 2003 I only added UK accounts. As the years have gone by and the lack of reporting facilities available I have been lucky enough to speak to witnesses and collect their accounts and experiences from all over the world, in the coming weeks I will also be adding these to the map as they come in. The map will continue to update as new accounts come in. [wpedon id=”2944″]

Phantoms and Monsters today reported an account, very similar to the accounts we have here in the UK. This sighting report reminds me of the “Henley Tree Snapper” report.
I am 40 years old and my name is Daniel Velazquez. I am construction worker in Seattle, Washington. This is the first time that I have contacted your show. I had to respond to the ‘Glimmering Man’ episode. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to tune in to this week’s show. I want to share with you my own experience with the “Predator” or as y’all have named it the “Glimmering Man”. Until now, I thought that maybe I was going crazy. This is the first and only experience that I have ever had with anything paranormal or other wordly. It was a very brief encounter but I know what I saw and this has made me question everything that I know. I am a Christian and that has been my upbringing. Okay, let me explain what happened.
